And I was right, there it was in its full-fidelity and form, all 14 font files that make up the Segoe family.īut that’s not all. It would have sounded pretty innocent to the normal user, but it was highly contagious for a sleuth like myself. A few weeks ago, Microsoft silently uploaded an ambiguous downloadable titled “ Print Ad for Microsoft Dynamics Business Management Solutions Brief Description“. Out of pure luck, Microsoft has actually let such a prized possession slip out of its internal archives and onto the public internet. Segoe UI is just one of the many subsets in the Segoe family which make up the collection. To note, this is not just Segoe UI which comes with Vista or Office 2007. And there’s no better if you need to create a fake Microsoft logo. It works great as a Helvetica substitute, and even looks extremely sharp even in small font sizes due to the ClearType enhancements. However, if you do happen to have it through one way or another, you will cherish it. And for that reason, it’s not a font you can exactly download from any fonts website. It’s used in almost every Microsoft branding campaign ranging from posters to logos, most notably Windows Vista. It's still Calibri. The official Microsoft branding typeface, Segoe, is a beautiful and elegant font. But that didn't help changing the Outlook font to Segoe either. Update: FWIW, I also just went through the instructions linked to in this thread.
SEGOE UI FONT PROBLEM HOW TO
I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff but would appreciate any suggestions as to how to change the default font to Segoe UI - and get that change to "stick" ! I have tried to search for the normal.dotm or normal.doc files (after changing the folder settings to show hidden files) but nothing shows up. I have changed it in Word (Home > Font > default font as well as in Word Options > Advanced > General > Web Options > Font) and have confirmed that it was successfully changed to Segoe UI by viewing the registry setting.īut for some reason, my RSS feeds and many incoming mails are still showing up in Calibri. I have changed the font in IE9 to Segoe UI. I have been perusing web pages and internet discussions to find some way to change the font that most of my RSS feeds and many incoming emails show up in (Calibri).
